How do I submit an old Schedule A to the IRS?
The person who prepared my individual income tax return for 2005 failed to include Schedule A in the package she sent. This resulted in the IRS adjusting the amount of tax I owed because they didn't include those itemized deductions. I want to send in my copy of Schedule A, but am unsure how to do that. Do I have to amend the previous return? Can I just send in the entire return with Schedule A? Any online resources you can point me too? I signed it, she mailed it.

- form 1040X ammended return
- Your preparer dropped the ball, call them tell them what happened.. and tell them to file a 1040X that should not cost you anything since they did the screw up.
- Don't put blame on the preparer, you signed the return didn't you review the return to make sure you agree with what you were signing. File an amended return to include the Schedule A you forgot to report with you original return.
